Sound familiar?

Still not sure what your tax bill will be this year?

Most limited company directors in Devon are competent at running their business. The accounts side is another matter entirely. Year-end comes around faster than expected, corporation tax is always a rough guess until it is not, and the accountant you have now tends to appear once a year with a bill rather than an explanation.

  • Corporation tax bill arrives as a surprise rather than a known figure
  • Bookkeeping left to pile up because there is no system in place
  • Accountant difficult to reach and slow to explain what anything means

What sorted looks like

Your compliance runs on a fixed schedule. Your tax position is visible throughout the year, not just at year-end. And when you have a question, you get an answer the same day — in plain English.

  • Corporation tax calculated and planned for well before the deadline
  • Books kept current every month via Xero, bank feeds connected
  • Direct access to Daniel — responsive, clear and without the jargon
  • Fixed monthly fee, agreed upfront, no surprise bills

Why DG Accountancy

What makes this practice different

There is no shortage of accountants in Devon. The difference tends to show up in responsiveness, depth of knowledge and whether you ever actually understand your own numbers.

🎯

Twenty Years Across Real Businesses

Daniel has worked across airlines, construction, manufacturing and entertainment — sectors with very different financial pressures. That breadth means he understands what limited company directors actually face, not just what the compliance checklist requires. You get seasoned judgement, not a graduate running through a template.

Answers the Day You Ask

Most accountants are hard to reach between March and January. DG Accountancy is not. Questions get a response the same day, in plain English, without you needing to chase. That alone tends to be the thing clients mention most when switching from a previous practice.

☁️

Cloud-Based, Nothing to Post

Everything runs through Xero — bank feeds connected, records updated in real time, documents shared securely online. There are no shoeboxes of receipts, no end-of-year data-gathering exercises, and no waiting for your accountant to open the books. Your numbers are current whenever you need them.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

Most clients are fully onboarded within a week. The process is designed to take as little of your time as possible.

1

Book a free discovery call

A short call to talk through your company, your current set-up, and what you actually need. No sales pitch — just an honest conversation about whether this is a good fit for both sides.

2

Receive your fixed-fee quote

You get a clear, written quote tailored to your company structure and the services you need. Everything is agreed upfront, so you know exactly what you are paying before anything is signed.

3

Onboarding and Xero setup

Your Xero account is set up or tidied, bank feeds connected, and any existing records brought into order. If your books are behind, that is handled as part of onboarding. Most clients are fully set up within a week.

4

Compliance runs, you focus elsewhere

Your accounts, tax returns and filings run on schedule without you needing to prompt them. You get plain-English updates when something needs your attention, and proactive advice when there is a better way to do something. Which is, frankly, the way it should be.

Questions

Things Devon limited company directors usually ask

Do you handle everything a limited company needs, or just the year-end accounts?+

The full picture. Year-end statutory accounts, CT600 corporation tax return and Companies House filing are all included in every limited company package. Depending on the tier, VAT returns, payroll, self assessment for directors and monthly bookkeeping are either included or available as add-ons. The aim is one accountant, one fixed fee, everything covered.

What does it cost and how does pricing work?+

Limited company packages start from £79 per month on the Start tier, rising to £695 per month on Scale — depending on what is included. All fees are fixed, agreed in writing before you start, and there are no hourly rates or surprise invoices. New clients also receive 50% off the monthly fee for the first three months. A written quote is provided after the discovery call.

My books are behind and my previous accountant left things in a state — can you still help?+

Yes, and this is fairly common. Catch-up bookkeeping and bringing disorganised records into order is part of the onboarding process. The cost depends on how far behind things are and how much historical work is involved — that will be clear from the quote before anything starts. Most clients are fully caught up and running on a clean system within a few weeks.

Is there a long-term contract or a minimum commitment?+

No long-term contract. If DG Accountancy is not the right fit after the first three months, you can leave with clean, up-to-date books and nothing owed beyond the agreed monthly fee. The intention is to earn your business on an ongoing basis, not to hold you to a rolling contract.

Do you work with companies based outside Torquay — across the rest of Devon and the UK?+

Yes. DG Accountancy is a fully online practice. All services are delivered remotely via Xero, video calls and secure document sharing — so geography is not a factor. Clients are based across Devon, from Exeter and Plymouth to Newton Abbot and Totnes, as well as across the rest of the UK.

When will I know what my corporation tax bill is going to be?+

You should not be finding out at year-end. On the Operate tier and above, tax position is reviewed quarterly so you have a clear picture of what is likely to be owed well in advance. That means no scrambling to find a lump sum nine months after your year closes. On the Start tier, this is covered as part of the annual compliance process.
