Sound familiar?
Creator finances are messy. Most accountants pretend otherwise.
Your income arrives from a dozen different places — platform payouts, brand sponsorships, affiliate links, merchandise, subscriptions. Some months are big. Some are not. Add in gifted products, overseas payments and the question of whether you should even be VAT-registered, and the tax picture gets complicated quickly. Most general accountants will file what you give them and not ask the right questions.
- No clear picture of what you owe HMRC until it is already due
- Legitimate expenses going unclaimed because no one checked
- No idea whether sole trader or limited company is more tax-efficient for you
What sorted looks like
When your accounting is handled properly, you know your tax position throughout the year, not just in January. Your expenses are reviewed, your structure is right for your income level, and there are no surprises at filing time.
- Your tax bill is visible months before it lands — no January panic
- Equipment, home office, software, travel — expenses reviewed and claimed correctly
- Sole trader or limited company recommendation based on your actual income
- Fixed monthly fee agreed upfront — no hourly rates, no surprise invoices
What self-employed clients say
Influencers and self-employed professionals across the UK working with DG Accountancy on tax, bookkeeping and getting their numbers straight.
Huge thanks to Daniel for helping ourselves with our taxes! Being self employed means we all have to do this ourselves which is just not possible on top of our work load. Thanks again! We will be using you again!
Daniel was very helpful with my books and tax return. He offered great advise and insight in how to manage my books better and more efficiently. His knowledge in tax law and what can be used for expenses really helped with saving money where I could. As a sole trader it’s really hard to keep on top of things and have now asked Dan to do monthly books for me. His rates are extremely good compared to some other accountants out there and I get more for my money.
Everything a creator’s finances actually need
From Self Assessment and VAT to structure advice and monthly bookkeeping — covered in a single fixed monthly fee tailored to your income level.
Self Assessment, Done Properly
Every income source — AdSense, brand deals, affiliate income, platform payouts — is accounted for in your return. Allowable expenses are reviewed before filing, not after. You will know your liability well before the January deadline.
Included as standardVAT and Business Structure Advice
Your VAT threshold is monitored as your income grows, so registration is planned rather than forced. If your earnings are at a level where a limited company makes sense, that conversation happens early — with numbers to back it up.
Proactive, not reactiveCloud Bookkeeping via Xero
Your books are kept current in Xero throughout the year, with bank feeds connected and income categorised correctly across platforms. No year-end scramble, no receipts in a drawer.
MTD-readyConsistently five stars across different clients
Sole traders, limited company directors and self-employed professionals — all working with Daniel directly, all rating the experience at five stars on Google.
Patient, Clear, No Jargon Used
“Daniel was very helpful and patient with me when I had no clue what to do and spoke through everything with me and made it clear, couldn’t recommend him enough, thank you again.”
Annual Accounts Done Without Any Worry
“Professional service. This company does my accounts every year and i never have to worry about it. Speedy as well. I am a very happy customer.”
Quick, Efficient and Friendly Service
“Excellent service providing financial accounts for probate. Quick, efficient and friendly. Would highly recommend.”
What makes the difference for creators
Most accountants handle compliance. Fewer understand income that arrives irregularly from multiple platforms and ask the questions that actually matter.
No need to explain how it works
Brand sponsorships, platform revenue splits, affiliate networks, gifted product income — you will not spend the first call explaining how you get paid. The right questions get asked from the start, which means the advice that follows is actually relevant.
Questions answered the day you ask
DG Accountancy is known for fast, clear replies. When a brand deal lands with an unusual payment structure, or HMRC sends a letter you do not recognise, you get a response the same day. Not in a week.
Plain English on every point
Daniel explains your tax position, your options and your obligations in language that makes sense — not a wall of references and caveats. You leave every conversation knowing what your position is and what, if anything, needs to happen next.
Up and running in four steps
Most influencer clients are fully onboarded within a week. The process is straightforward and most of the legwork is done for you.
Book a free discovery call
A short, no-pressure conversation about your income sources, your current set-up and what you need. No obligation, no sales pitch — just an honest conversation about whether it is a good fit.
Receive your fixed-fee quote
You will get a written quote tailored to your income level and services required. Everything is agreed upfront, so there are no surprises when the invoice arrives.
Onboarding and Xero setup
Your Xero account is set up (or tidied up), bank feeds are connected, and income streams are categorised correctly from day one. You do not need to do much — most clients are fully onboarded within a week.
Compliance handled, focus elsewhere
Your returns are filed on time, your books are current, and your tax position is visible throughout the year. Considerably less to think about — which is, frankly, the way it should be.
“Fantastic service provided. Thank you.”
Answers to what most creators ask first
Do you understand creator income — brand deals, platform payouts, gifted products, affiliate commissions?
Yes. These are treated differently for tax purposes and it matters that your accountant knows that before filing your return. Gifted products above a certain value are taxable. Overseas platform payments may have withholding tax implications. Brand deal income is self-employment income and needs to be declared correctly. You will not need to educate Daniel on how any of it works.
What does it cost and what is included?
Sole trader packages start from £41 per month, with limited company packages from £79 per month. All fees are fixed and agreed upfront before anything starts. Introductory pricing of 50% off the first three months applies to new clients. A free written quote is provided before you commit to anything.
My books are a mess — years of receipts and multiple income sources. Can you still help?
Catch-up bookkeeping is a standard part of the onboarding process. Most clients arrive with records in some state of disarray, and that is fine. Any catch-up work required is quoted separately and agreed upfront before work begins, so there are no surprises.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. There is no minimum term beyond the initial month. If it is not working, you leave with clean, up-to-date books and nothing owed. Most clients stay because the service is useful, not because they are contractually obliged to.
Should I be operating as a sole trader or a limited company?
It depends on your income level and how you want to extract money from the business. At lower income levels, sole trader is simpler and often sufficient. As income grows, a limited company can be more tax-efficient through a combination of salary and dividends. Daniel will walk through the numbers with you so the decision is based on your actual situation, not a general rule of thumb.
When do I need to register for VAT as a creator?
The VAT registration threshold is currently £90,000 of taxable turnover in a rolling 12-month period. If your combined creator income is approaching that level, registration needs to happen promptly — HMRC does not accept late registration as an honest oversight. Your VAT position is monitored as part of the ongoing service so you will not cross the threshold without being prepared for it.
