Sound familiar?

Payroll eating hours you do not have?

For most small businesses in Paignton, payroll is one of those tasks that has to happen every month whether you are ready or not. Tax codes change. New starters need setting up. CIS deductions need calculating. P11Ds creep up at year end. Get any of it wrong and HMRC will notice before you do.

  • RTI submissions late or incorrect, risking HMRC penalty notices
  • P11D expenses and benefits left unsubmitted until the deadline hits
  • CIS deductions miscalculated, leaving subcontractors and HMRC both unhappy

What handled payroll looks like

Every pay run goes out on time, every RTI submission lands with HMRC before it is due, and you are told what is happening rather than having to ask. Payroll is off your plate, which is where it should be.

  • RTI submitted correctly on time, every single pay run
  • P11D expenses tracked and filed well before the July deadline
  • CIS deductions calculated and verified each month for every subcontractor
  • One fixed monthly fee, everything included, nothing unexpected

Huge thanks to Daniel for helping ourselves with our taxes! Being self employed means we all have to do this ourselves which is just not possible on top of our work load. Thanks again! We will be using you again!

What you get

Everything your payroll needs, included

Payroll is rarely just payslips. The package covers the full PAYE picture — from new starter setup to year-end P60s — so nothing gets missed.

01

Monthly Payroll and RTI

Every pay run processed accurately, with RTI filed to HMRC before the deadline. New starters, leavers and tax code changes are handled as they arise, not left to pile up. You get payslips ready to share and a clear record of what was paid and when.

Included as standard
02

CIS Returns and Deductions

If you work in construction and pay subcontractors, CIS compliance needs to run alongside your regular payroll. Deduction statements go out each month and your monthly CIS return is filed with HMRC on time. Subcontractors get what they need, and you stay on the right side of the rules.

Included where applicable
03

P11D and Year-End Returns

P11D expenses and benefits in kind are straightforward to overlook and not straightforward to explain to HMRC after the fact. They are tracked throughout the year and filed by the 6 July deadline. Year-end P60s are issued to all employees without you needing to chase.

Why DG Accountancy

What makes the difference on a monthly payroll

Anyone can file an RTI submission. What matters is accuracy, reliability and knowing your payroll will not be the thing that triggers an HMRC inquiry.

🎯

Two decades of real payroll experience

Daniel has managed payroll across airlines, construction, manufacturing and entertainment — industries with genuinely complex PAYE requirements. That background means edge cases are not edge cases here. CIS, directors’ payroll, irregular pay cycles — all familiar ground.

Questions answered the day you ask

Payroll questions tend to be time-sensitive. An employee querying a payslip, a new starter needing to be set up before next week — these cannot wait three days for a reply. DG Accountancy is known for fast, clear responses, which is more useful than it sounds when month-end is approaching.

☁️

Everything online, nothing to post

Payroll runs through Xero, so your records are always current and accessible without waiting for someone to open a file. Bank feeds, payslip history and HMRC submissions are all in one place. No spreadsheets emailed back and forth, no version control headaches.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

Most payroll clients are fully onboarded within a week. The heavy lifting is handled from the start so the first pay run goes out cleanly.

1

Book a free discovery call

A short conversation about your payroll setup — how many employees, whether CIS applies, what software you are using now. No sales pitch, just a practical discussion about what needs to happen and whether we are the right fit.

2

Receive your fixed-fee quote

You get a written quote within one working day, covering everything agreed on the call. The monthly fee is fixed — no surprises if it takes longer than expected, no hourly rate that creeps upward.

3

Onboarding and system setup

Existing employee records are transferred, Xero is connected, and any outstanding PAYE matters are reviewed before the first run. Most clients are fully set up within a week of signing on.

4

Payroll runs itself from here

Every month your payroll goes out accurately and on time. RTI is filed, payslips are ready, and you are kept informed without having to ask. Less to manage, nothing to worry about, and HMRC correspondence that arrives for the right reasons rather than the wrong ones.

Questions

Common questions about payroll services

Do you handle CIS as well as standard PAYE payroll?+

Yes. If you operate in construction and pay subcontractors under the Construction Industry Scheme, CIS runs alongside your regular payroll. Monthly CIS returns are filed with HMRC, deduction statements go out to subcontractors each month, and verification checks are handled at the start of any new subcontractor relationship. The two are managed together rather than treated as separate problems.

What does payroll actually cost, and what is included?+

Payroll is included in the Limited Company packages from the Operate tier upward, covering up to three employees on the Operate plan and up to nine on Grow. For businesses outside those packages, payroll is available as a standalone add-on at a fixed monthly rate agreed upfront. Everything within the agreed scope is covered — RTI, payslips, P60s, P11Ds and CIS where applicable. No hourly rate and no invoice surprises.

My payroll records are a bit of a mess — can you sort it out mid-year?+

Messy payroll records are not unusual, particularly when switching from in-house processing or a previous accountant who did not keep things tidy. A catch-up review is done before the first pay run to identify any outstanding RTI submissions, missing P11Ds or unreconciled PAYE positions. The cost of that catch-up is quoted separately and agreed before any work begins.

Is there a long-term contract, or can I leave if it is not right?+

No long-term contract. If you decide to move on, you leave with clean, up-to-date payroll records and nothing owed beyond the current month. Payroll history and all HMRC submissions are yours and are provided in a format your next provider can use without starting again.

Can you handle payroll for directors as well as employees?+

Yes. Director payroll, particularly the salary-dividend split that is common in owner-managed limited companies, is handled as part of the service. The optimal salary level for the tax year is discussed as part of onboarding and reviewed annually, so the structure stays efficient rather than defaulting to whatever it was last year.

Will I know what my PAYE liability is before it is due?+

Yes. You are told the PAYE amount due to HMRC each month before the payment deadline, not the day it falls due. There are no bill-shock moments because the numbers are visible and explained throughout the year rather than arriving unexpectedly.
