Sound familiar?

Still not entirely sure what you owe HMRC this year?

Most small business owners in Hele are not short of ambition — they are short of time. The books get pushed to evenings. The VAT deadline appears sooner than expected. The Self Assessment goes in at the last minute, without much confidence it is right. None of it is disastrous on its own, but it adds up to a nagging background stress that should not be part of running a business.

  • Tax bill unknown until HMRC sends the reminder
  • Bookkeeping falling behind because there are not enough hours
  • Accountant slow to respond, or communicates mostly in jargon

What sorted looks like

Compliance handled on time, every time. Your numbers visible in real time through Xero. And an accountant who picks up the phone and explains things in plain English rather than making you decode a cryptic email.

  • Your tax position visible months ahead, not discovered at deadline
  • Bookkeeping up to date monthly — nothing left to pile up
  • Questions answered the day you ask them, in plain English
  • One fixed monthly fee, agreed before anything starts

What Hele and Torquay clients say

From sole traders filing their first return to limited company directors needing ongoing support, the feedback follows a consistent pattern: responsive, clear and accurate.

★★★★★

I worked with Daniel at DG Accountancy to review and sign off my sole trader accounts for a time-sensitive mortgage application, and the service was excellent. Daniel was extremely responsive, clear, and professional throughout. He understood exactly what the lender required, turned everything around very quickly without cutting corners. Communication was straightforward and reassuring, which made a potentially stressful part of the mortgage process much easier. Fees were transparent, turnaround was fast, and the work was done thoroughly and accurately. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Daniel to anyone needing reliable accountancy support, particularly where deadlines really matter.

Saved Money on Expenses, Asked for Monthly Books

“Daniel was very helpful with my books and tax return. He offered great advise and insight in how to manage my books better and more efficiently. His knowledge in tax law and what can be used for expenses really helped with saving money where I could. As a sole trader it’s really hard to keep on top of things and have now asked Dan to do monthly books for me. His rates are extremely good compared to some other accountants out there and I get more for my money.”

Why DG Accountancy

Why Hele businesses choose DG Accountancy

There is no shortage of accountants. What is rarer is one with broad real-world experience, a genuine response time and the ability to explain things without making you feel like you need a dictionary.

🎯

Twenty Years of Cross-Sector Experience

Daniel has worked across airlines, construction, manufacturing and entertainment before founding DG Accountancy. That breadth means he has seen the practical challenges that diverse businesses face — not just the textbook versions. You get an accountant who already understands how your type of business works before you have explained it.

Answers on the Day You Ask

DG Accountancy is built around responsiveness. Questions get replies the same day during office hours — no chasing, no waiting three days for a simple answer. For a small business owner, that is not a minor convenience; it is the difference between a decision made confidently and one made on a guess.

💬

Plain English, Not Accountant-Speak

Jargon is not a sign of expertise — it is usually the opposite. Daniel explains your tax position, your options and your obligations in language that makes sense without a finance background. You leave every conversation knowing exactly where you stand.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

Most clients are fully onboarded within a week. The process is designed to require as little from you as possible while getting everything set up properly.

1

Book a free discovery call

A short conversation about your business, your current set-up and what you actually need from an accountant. No sales pitch — just an honest discussion about whether this is the right fit. You will leave the call knowing exactly what happens next.

2

Receive your fixed-fee quote

A clear, written quote tailored to your business structure and the services you need. Everything is agreed upfront — no ambiguous scope, no hourly rates appearing later, no surprises.

3

Onboarding and Xero setup

Your Xero account is set up or tidied up, bank feeds are connected and the necessary information is gathered. Most clients are fully onboarded within a week and have to do very little of the heavy lifting themselves.

4

Compliance handled, focus returned

Your returns are filed on time, your books are current and your tax position is visible in advance. Questions are answered promptly. The compliance side of running your business in Hele becomes, frankly, considerably less of a thing to think about.

Questions

Things people usually ask before getting in touch

I am based in Hele — do you work with local businesses or is this all remote?+

DG Accountancy is based in Torquay, which makes Hele effectively a local service. That said, everything is delivered online via Xero, video calls and secure file sharing — so whether you prefer a fully remote relationship or the occasional local connection, both work. You will never need to travel anywhere or post anything.

What does it cost and what is included?+

Pricing is fixed monthly and agreed upfront before anything starts. Limited company packages run from £79 per month, sole trader packages from £41 per month, with 50% off for the first three months on both. There are no hidden hourly rates — what is quoted is what you pay. A free quote is available with no obligation.

My books are behind and somewhat disorganised — is that a problem?+

It is not unusual. Catch-up bookkeeping is a regular part of onboarding for new clients and is quoted transparently as part of the initial scope. Once the books are current, the ongoing monthly service keeps them that way. Arriving with books in some state of disarray is fairly normal — leaving with considerably less to worry about is the point.

Am I locked in to a contract?+

No. There is no long-term contract. If after three months the arrangement is not right for you, you can leave with clean, up-to-date books and nothing further owed. The intention is to earn continued work through a service worth keeping, not through contractual obligation.

Will I always deal with Daniel directly, or will I be passed to someone else?+

You will work directly with Daniel throughout. DG Accountancy does not operate a model where clients are onboarded and then handed to junior staff. The advice you receive will always come from an ACCA-qualified accountant with 20 years of practical experience.

Can you help me reduce my tax bill, not just file the returns?+

Yes — proactive tax planning is part of the service rather than a bolt-on afterthought. That includes timing of expenses, director salary and dividend structuring, allowable deductions relevant to your industry, and flagging anything that warrants attention before it becomes a missed opportunity. The goal is that your tax position is visible and considered year-round, not only when a deadline arrives.

Ready when you are

Stop guessing what you owe. Start knowing.

A free discovery call takes 20 minutes. You will leave with a clear picture of what is needed, a fixed-fee quote and a straightforward path to getting your books and tax in order.
