Sound familiar?

Still not sure what your tax bill will be?

Most limited company directors in Torbay are running their business, not monitoring their accounts. Year-end arrives, the accountant asks for everything at once, and the Corporation Tax bill is a number you have never seen before. VAT quarters stack up, the confirmation statement reminder lands in your inbox, and payroll needs running whether the month is busy or quiet. It is a lot to keep across.

  • Corporation Tax bill arriving as a surprise at year-end
  • VAT deadlines and payroll running alongside everything else you manage
  • Companies House filings and confirmation statements quietly becoming overdue

What a well-run limited company looks like

When your compliance is handled on a fixed monthly fee, deadlines stop being something you track. Your tax position is visible throughout the year, not revealed at the end of it. Everything from year-end accounts to VAT and payroll runs on schedule.

  • Your Corporation Tax liability modelled throughout the year — no surprises
  • VAT returns, payroll and RTI submissions handled every period, on time
  • Companies House filings and confirmation statements managed as standard
  • One fixed monthly fee covering everything agreed — transparent from day one

I worked with Daniel at DG Accountancy to review and sign off my sole trader accounts for a time-sensitive mortgage application, and the service was excellent. Daniel was extremely responsive, clear, and professional throughout. He understood exactly what the lender required, turned everything around very quickly without cutting corners. Communication was straightforward and reassuring, which made a potentially stressful part of the mortgage process much easier. Fees were transparent, turnaround was fast, and the work was done thoroughly and accurately. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Daniel to anyone needing reliable accountancy support, particularly where deadlines really matter.

Included as standard
02

VAT Returns and Payroll

Quarterly VAT returns filed under Making Tax Digital, with threshold monitoring so you are never caught off-guard by a registration obligation. Payroll is run monthly with RTI submissions, P11D preparation for directors and CIS support where needed. Both are included in mid-tier packages or available as add-ons on the entry plan.

Included from Operate tier

Rates Better Than Other Accountants

“Daniel was very helpful with my books and tax return. He offered great advise and insight in how to manage my books better and more efficiently. His knowledge in tax law and what can be used for expenses really helped with saving money where I could. As a sole trader it’s really hard to keep on top of things and have now asked Dan to do monthly books for me. His rates are extremely good compared to some other accountants out there and I get more for my money.”

“Huge thanks to Daniel for helping ourselves with our taxes! Being self employed means we all have to do this ourselves which is just not possible on top of our work load. Thanks again! We will be using you again!”

Why DG Accountancy

What sets this practice apart from the rest

There is no shortage of accountants in Devon. Here is what makes the difference in practice.

🎯

Twenty Years Across Real Industries

Daniel has worked across airlines, construction, manufacturing and entertainment — not just in practice. That breadth means he already understands how diverse limited companies operate, what the real pressure points are, and where the tax opportunities tend to sit. You are not explaining your industry to someone learning it on your time.

Questions Answered the Day You Ask

DG Accountancy is built around responsiveness. You will not wait days for a reply to a simple query, or chase a call back about a VAT question that needed answering yesterday. Fast, clear communication is not a bonus — it is how the practice runs.

☁️

Cloud-Based, Accessible in Real Time

Your books run on Xero with bank feeds connected and records current. No waiting for the accountant to open the books at year-end and no scramble to reconstruct twelve months of transactions. Your financial position is visible whenever you need to see it.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps

Most new clients are fully onboarded within a week. Here is what the process looks like from first contact to ongoing support.

1

Book a free discovery call

A short call to talk through your company, your current set-up and what you need from an accountant. No sales pitch — just an honest conversation about whether this is the right fit for your business.

2

Receive your fixed-fee quote

You will get a written quote tailored to your company structure, turnover and the services you need. Everything is agreed upfront — no hourly rates, no vague estimates, no surprises at year-end.

3

Onboarding and Xero setup

Your Xero account is set up or tidied up, bank feeds connected, and any catch-up work scoped and quoted separately if needed. Most companies are fully onboarded within a week of signing up.

4

Compliance handled, you focus forward

From here, deadlines are monitored, returns filed and your tax position kept visible throughout the year. You get a responsive accountant on hand when questions arise and proactive advice when something is worth flagging — which is, frankly, the way it should be.

Questions

A few things directors usually ask

Do you handle everything a limited company needs, or just the year-end accounts?+

The packages cover the full compliance stack — year-end statutory accounts, Corporation Tax CT600, VAT returns under Making Tax Digital, payroll with RTI, Self Assessment for directors, and Companies House filings including confirmation statements. The Start package covers year-end and Corporation Tax with add-ons available; from Operate upwards, VAT and payroll are included. Nothing falls through the gaps because everything is scoped and agreed before you sign up.

What does it actually cost for a limited company, and what is included?+

Limited company packages start at £79 per month for the Start tier, which covers year-end accounts, Corporation Tax and Ltd registration. The Operate package is from £195 per month and adds VAT, payroll for up to three employees, Self Assessment and quarterly reviews. Grow starts at £395 and Scale at £695 for larger or faster-moving companies. All packages come with 50% off the monthly fee for the first three months, and everything is agreed in writing upfront — no hourly rates and no invoices you were not expecting.

My books are behind and my last accountant left things in a mess — can you still help?+

This is not unusual. The first thing to do is understand how far behind things are and what needs catching up. That is covered in the discovery call at no cost. Any catch-up work is scoped and quoted separately before anything is touched, so you know exactly what it will cost to get current. Once the books are tidy, the ongoing monthly fee takes over and keeps them that way.

Is there a long-term contract or minimum commitment?+

There is no long-term contract. Services run on a rolling monthly basis and you can leave with reasonable notice. If things are not working after the first three months, you leave with clean, current books and nothing further owed. The aim is to make staying the obvious choice — not to make leaving difficult.

How should I be paying myself as a director — salary, dividends, or a mix?+

Most limited company directors take a small salary up to the National Insurance threshold combined with dividends from retained profits — a structure that is generally more tax-efficient than a pure salary. The right balance depends on your profit level, personal circumstances and any other income you receive. This is reviewed as part of the ongoing service, not left as something to work out for yourself at the end of the tax year.

How far in advance will I know what my Corporation Tax bill is going to be?+

On the Operate package and above, your tax position is reviewed at least quarterly so the Corporation Tax liability is never a figure that appears for the first time at year-end. On the Grow and Scale packages, management accounts and cash flow forecasting give you a running picture of where profits sit and what the likely tax charge will be. The goal is that the bill is already planned for when it falls due.
