Sound familiar?
Still not sure what your tax bill is going to be?
For many Dawlish business owners, tax is something that gets dealt with in January when the deadline is looming — not something that gets managed through the year. That means unpleasant surprises, missed allowances, and a lot of Sunday evenings spent trying to figure out what you actually owe. It does not have to work that way.
- Guessing your tax liability until HMRC tells you the number
- Missing legitimate expenses because nobody pointed them out
- Self Assessment filed late, or in a rush, with errors you only spot afterwards
What on top of things looks like
Your tax position is tracked through the year — not assembled at the last minute. Allowances are identified as they arise, your return is filed well before the deadline, and you know what you owe before HMRC sends a single letter.
- Tax liability visible throughout the year, no end-of-January scramble
- Allowable expenses identified and claimed — nothing left on the table
- Self Assessment filed accurately, ahead of the deadline, every time
- Fixed monthly fee agreed upfront — no surprise invoices
What Dawlish clients say about their tax
From first Self Assessments to more complex income streams, business owners across Devon have found the process considerably less painful than expected.
Huge thanks to Daniel for helping ourselves with our taxes! Being self employed means we all have to do this ourselves which is just not possible on top of our work load. Thanks again! We will be using you again!
Daniel was very helpful with my books and tax return. He offered great advise and insight in how to manage my books better and more efficiently. His knowledge in tax law and what can be used for expenses really helped with saving money where I could.
Tax support that covers the full picture
Whether you are self-employed, running a limited company or managing a property portfolio, the service covers your compliance obligations and flags the opportunities most people walk past.
Self Assessment Tax Returns
Your return is prepared, reviewed and filed before the January deadline — not on it. Income from employment, self-employment, rental or dividends is accounted for correctly, and legitimate deductions are identified before the return is submitted.
Included as standardProactive Tax Planning
Rather than tallying up the damage at year end, your tax position is reviewed through the year. Allowances, reliefs and structuring options are flagged as they become relevant, so you have time to act on them rather than reading about them in hindsight.
Included from Operate tierCorporation Tax and Year-End Accounts
For limited company directors in Dawlish, the full year-end package covers statutory accounts, the CT600 Corporation Tax return and the Companies House filing. Everything is handled in one process — no chasing three different advisers.
Included as standardConsistent results across different situations
Sole traders, company directors and landlords have all found the same thing: clear answers, accurate work and no waiting around for a reply.
Turned Around Accounts for Urgent Deadline
“I worked with Daniel at DG Accountancy to review and sign off my sole trader accounts for a time-sensitive mortgage application, and the service was excellent. Daniel was extremely responsive, clear, and professional throughout.”
Accounts Handled Every Year Without Worry
“Professional service. This company does my accounts every year and i never have to worry about it. Speedy as well. I am a very happy customer.”
Absolutely Recommend for Any Accounts Matter
“Absolutely recommend Daniel for all and any accounts related matter. Would use his expertise again. He is the most amazing person, very professional, explaining every detail meticulously in order to finalise our accounts.”
What makes the difference for Dawlish clients
There are plenty of accountants in Devon. Here is why business owners who have tried others tend to stay.
Twenty Years Across Real Businesses
Daniel has worked in-house across airlines, construction, manufacturing and entertainment — industries where numbers actually drive decisions. That breadth means he understands your situation before you have finished explaining it. You get seasoned judgement, not a checklist.
Questions Answered the Day You Ask
DG Accountancy is known specifically for fast replies. Not next week, not after a chase — the same day. If your tax position has changed or you have a decision to make, you will not be left waiting while the clock runs.
Plain English, Not Accountant-Speak
Tax legislation is genuinely complex. The explanation you receive does not need to be. Daniel translates your obligations and options into language that makes sense, so you can make an informed decision rather than just signing something off.
Up and running in four straightforward steps
Most clients are fully onboarded within a week. The process is designed so you do as little as possible while we do the rest.
Book a free discovery call
A short conversation about your business, your current setup, and what you actually need from a tax adviser. No sales pitch — just an honest discussion about whether we are the right fit for each other.
Receive your fixed-fee quote
A written quote tailored to your business structure and the services you need. Everything is agreed upfront, so you know precisely what you are paying before anything is signed.
Onboarding and cloud setup
We set up or tidy up your Xero account, connect your bank feeds, and gather what we need. Most clients are fully onboarded within a week — the admin falls on our side, not yours.
Tax handled, focus restored
Your compliance runs on schedule, your tax position is monitored through the year, and you get plain-English advice whenever something changes. Tax becomes, at last, something you do not have to think about every week.
“Excellent service providing financial accounts for probate. Quick, efficient and friendly. Would highly recommend.”
Things Dawlish clients usually ask first
I have income from multiple sources — employment, self-employment and a rental property. Can you handle all of that in one return?
Yes, and it is a fairly common combination. A single Self Assessment return can cover all three income streams, and the interaction between them — particularly around National Insurance, allowable expenses and the property income allowance — is something that gets reviewed as part of the process rather than left for you to untangle. You will not need to visit three different advisers.
What does it actually cost, and what is included?
Pricing is fixed monthly and agreed in writing before you start — no hourly rates, no surprise invoices. Sole trader packages start from £41 per month; limited company packages from £79 per month. The first three months are available at 50% off. Each quote is tailored to your business structure and the services you actually need, so you only pay for what is relevant.
My books are not in great shape. Is that a problem?
It is a common starting point. Catch-up bookkeeping is something we handle regularly — the extent of the work involved is assessed at the outset, and any one-off catch-up cost is included in your written quote before anything begins. Most clients arrive with books in some state of disarray and leave with considerably less to worry about.
Is there a long-term contract or minimum term?
There is no long-term lock-in. If after the first three months the arrangement is not working for you, you can leave and your records will be in order. The relationship continues because it is worth it to both parties, not because of a penalty clause.
Do I need to come in to see you, or is this all done online?
Everything is done remotely — video calls, secure document sharing and cloud accounting via Xero. There is no requirement to visit an office, which suits most clients in Dawlish who simply want the work done without the added friction of appointments. If you prefer a phone call to a video call, that is equally fine.
How far ahead will I know what my tax bill is going to be?
On the Operate tier and above, your tax position is reviewed annually as part of the service, which typically means you know what is coming well before the January Self Assessment deadline. On the Grow and Scale tiers, the review is more frequent and tax planning forms part of the ongoing conversation. The goal is that the January bill is never a surprise.
Less guessing about your tax bill. More clarity.
