Sound familiar?

Still not sure what your tax bill is going to be?

Running a business in Watcombe means wearing several hats at once. Keeping on top of bookkeeping, VAT deadlines and Self Assessment while actually doing the work is a reasonable thing to struggle with. Most people put off the admin until it becomes more pressing than it should be.

  • Self Assessment filed late or left until the last possible moment
  • No clear picture of what Corporation Tax or income tax will be this year
  • Books not updated for months, making year-end a stressful scramble

What sorted looks like

Compliance runs on time, your tax position is visible throughout the year, and your books are current. You talk to Daniel directly when you have a question and get a straight answer in plain English.

  • Self Assessment filed accurately and well ahead of the HMRC deadline
  • Tax liability known months in advance, not as a year-end surprise
  • Books current and tidy every month, so year-end takes days not weeks
  • Fixed monthly fee agreed upfront — no hourly rate surprises

What Watcombe clients say about us

From sole traders to limited company directors, clients across Torquay come back year after year for the same reason: it just works.

★★★★★

I worked with Daniel at DG Accountancy to review and sign off my sole trader accounts for a time-sensitive mortgage application, and the service was excellent. Daniel was extremely responsive, clear, and professional throughout. He understood exactly what the lender required, turned everything around very quickly without cutting corners. Communication was straightforward and reassuring, which made a potentially stressful part of the mortgage process much easier. Fees were transparent, turnaround was fast, and the work was done thoroughly and accurately. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Daniel to anyone needing reliable accountancy support, particularly where deadlines really matter.

Self-Employment Tax Burden Finally Off Their Plate

Rates Better Than Other Accountants, More Included

“Daniel was very helpful with my books and tax return. He offered great advise and insight in how to manage my books better and more efficiently. His knowledge in tax law and what can be used for expenses really helped with saving money where I could. As a sole trader it’s really hard to keep on top of things and have now asked Dan to do monthly books for me. His rates are extremely good compared to some other accountants out there and I get more for my money.”

Why DG Accountancy

Why Watcombe businesses choose us over a local high street firm

There is no shortage of accountants. The difference is usually in how quickly you hear back, how clearly things are explained, and whether your accountant spots things before you do.

🎯

Twenty Years Across Real Industries

Daniel has worked in airlines, construction, manufacturing and entertainment — so when a client describes their business, very little needs explaining from scratch. That breadth means he recognises patterns and risks that a generalist with less varied experience might miss. You get seasoned judgement, not a learning curve on your time.

Questions Answered the Day You Ask

DG Accountancy is consistently praised for response speed. You will not be left chasing a callback or waiting three days for a reply to a straightforward question. Fast answers are not a bonus — they are part of the service.

☁️

Everything Online, Nothing Posted

All services are delivered through Xero, secure file sharing and video calls — so geography is irrelevant and your records are always accessible in real time. No more posting receipts or waiting for your accountant to open the books. Fully MTD-compliant and ready for whatever HMRC requires next.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

Most clients are fully onboarded within a week. The process is designed to take as little of your time as possible.

1

Book a free discovery call

A short conversation about your business, your current set-up, and what you actually need. No sales pitch — just an honest discussion about whether DG Accountancy is the right fit.

2

Receive your fixed-fee quote

You get a clear, written quote based on your business structure and the services you need. Everything is agreed upfront — no ambiguity about what is and is not included.

3

Onboarding and cloud setup

Your Xero account is set up or tidied, bank feeds are connected, and any catch-up work is scoped and priced. You provide documents securely online and Daniel handles the rest.

4

Compliance runs, you focus on the business

Deadlines are managed, your books stay current, and you hear about issues before they become problems. Which is, frankly, the way it should be.

Questions

Things people usually ask before getting started

I’m based in Watcombe — do I need to visit an office, or is everything handled online?+

Everything is handled remotely. DG Accountancy operates as a fully online practice, which means there is no need to visit an office or post documents anywhere. All communication happens via phone, email and video call, and documents are shared securely online. Clients across Devon and the wider UK work this way without any difficulty.

What does it cost, and what is included in the monthly fee?+

Limited company packages start from £79 per month, and sole trader packages start from £41 per month — with 50% off for the first three months on both. Each package is a fixed monthly fee agreed upfront, covering the services relevant to your business structure. There are no hourly rates and no surprise invoices. A free quote will set out exactly what is and is not included before you commit to anything.

My books are behind and not in great shape. Is that a problem?+

It is a very common situation and not a barrier to getting started. The first step is understanding how far behind things are and what catch-up work is involved — which gets scoped and quoted separately before any work begins. Most clients who arrive with records in some state of disarray leave the onboarding process with considerably less to worry about than they arrived with.

Is there a long-term contract or a minimum commitment?+

There is no long-term contract. If after three months the arrangement is not working for you, you are free to leave with clean books and nothing further owed. The aim is to be worth keeping, not to make leaving complicated.

Can you handle payroll for my staff as well as my own director’s salary?+

Yes. Payroll is included in the Operate, Grow and Scale limited company packages, covering between one and twenty employees depending on the tier. Director payroll, RTI submissions, CIS and P11D filings are all handled. If your current package does not include payroll, it can be added at a transparent fixed cost.

How far in advance will I know what my tax bill is going to be?+

On the Operate package and above, there is an annual tax review built into the service. On Grow and Scale, tax planning is more frequent. In practice, your Corporation Tax and personal tax position is visible throughout the year — not just when accounts are prepared — so there is time to plan ahead and avoid unnecessary surprises.
